My name is Paula Robertson and I am a Jungian Psychotherapist.
I have also completed the SAP additional training focusing on early adulthood (18-27 age group).
In addition, I have worked for several years in psychological services (secondary care) in the NHS.
I offer weekly and twice weekly therapy. Sessions are 50 minutes. I work at the King Centre in Rutland and my room has disabled access and facilities.
I normally suggest you contact me for an initial discussion, without obligation, for us to get a sense of how it might be to work together.
I work psychodynamically – which can be described as how the past can be carried into the present, in relationships or decisions made, or held in the body as physical symptoms. This impact of the past can sometimes create conflicts, anxiety and ways of being which hinder life being lived as fully and creatively as we might sense it could be. Therapy offers a chance to consider past and present with someone who will be with you in this exploration, whilst everything discussed will stay between us, separate from your life.
My training is based in the work of Freud and Jung, as the founding fathers of the “talking cure”, but also integrates subsequent developments, including attachment theory, relational psychoanalysis and the work of body and trauma therapists.
“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
I am a Psychotherapy Member of the Society of Analytical Psychology which is a developmental Jungian/Post Jungian organisation and is also the teaching institute where I qualified as a psychotherapist.
I offer weekly or twice weekly psychodynamic psychotherapy.
I am a registered, accredited member of BPC (The British Psychoanalytic Council) as well as the I.A.A.P (The International Association for Analytical Psychology)
